WorkScore® is operated by Reputation Networks, Inc. We refer to the website www.workscore.com as “the site”.

Your privacy is a serious matter to us. In order to ensure that our privacy program makes fair use of the information you and others provide us and to ensure that we comply fully with our Privacy Program, we have asked an independent outside organization to review and audit our practices. TRUSTe® is an independent, non-profit organization whose mission is to enable individuals and organizations to establish trusting relationships based on respect for personal identity and information by promoting the use of fair information practices, to review our privacy practices and our compliance with these practices. TRUSTe has approved our Privacy Program and is available to you to ensure our full compliance with our Program.

What we disclose

We do not disclose the reviews you give CEOs or companies. We do not disclose your views about how well a a particular person knows your work or how objective they are. If your employer advises us that they wish to help all employees improve their WorkScores, we share your WorkScore with the Account Manager from your workplace unless you you indicate in under the Security setting in the My Account section of the site that you do not wish for us to do so. We notify you in advance before we do this. Otherwise your WorkScore is seen only by those you send it to.

We create useful data from employees in your company or nonprofit organization who use our site and we make these statistics available to managers from your organization. These statistics are designed to help your employer to improve your workplace and to enable managers to help you improve your skills and your WorkScore.

Your Skill Score If your employer enrolls in a program to help all employee to improve their WorkScores, we share your WorkScore unless you indicate in your profile that we may not do so. Otherwise, nobody but you and people you authorize is able to view your WorkScore. Yes. These figures contribute to reports on leadership, trust, confidence and other data that may be useful to helping the managers of your organization.
Thanks or recommendations you leave for co-workers or comments you make about your workplace The thanks or props that you leave for co-workers are shown to them without attribution. Your comments about your workplace are public but are likewise not attributed to you. You are, of course, free to identify yourself in the text of your comments if you wish to do so. We do not derive statistics from comments, although having Thanks and Props does improve your WorkScore slightly.
The names of colleagues you review or the names of those who review you You know who has reviewed you and anyone you have reviewed knows that you have reviewed them. They will appear in your network and you will appear in theirs. The reviews themselves are confidential, but who has reviewed whom is transparent so that you can tell us how much emphasis to assign each review that you receive. Employers that use WorkScore to improve their workplaces learn who has reviewed whom so that they can suggest, for example, that a manager get more feedback from subordinates or that someone who has asked only friends for reviews broaden the feedback they get.
Your review of WorkScore We do not disclose your reviews. We want your ideas for improving WorkScore. Informed feedback really is a gift! Yes. Our rating comes from your reviews.

Log Files

When you use the site, we gather certain information about your computer and store it in log files. This information includes, but is not limited to, your internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring and exiting pages, operating system, screen resolution, color capabilities, date and time stamp, click stream data, and information regarding which JavaScript version your computer has and whether your computer is enabled for Flash® and ActiveX. We use this information to a) prevent abuse of our system; b) improve the experience our users have on the site; and c) ensure a complete registration process. We do not share this information with third parties.

Cookies

A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer that is used for authenticating, tracking, and maintaining specific information about you, such as your site preferences. We use cookies on the site.

We may use both session ID cookies and/or persistent cookies. Session ID cookies make it easier for you to navigate our site. A session ID cookie expires when you close your browser. A persistent cookie remains on your hard drive for an extended period of time and helps us remember your site preferences. No information about your reviews or your site activites is stored in cookies.You can remove persistent cookies by following directions provided in your internet browser's "Help" file.

Note To Parents And Minors

We do not knowingly collect any personal information from minors. We ask that minors do not submit any information about themselves and that they do not use the site. Anyone using the site or the services provided in connection with the site represents and warrants that he or she is 18 years of age or older.

Information That We Use And Share

We use the personally identifiable information you provide us to communicate with you. The communications that you may receive from WorkScore include:

  • Notifications that you have received thanks or props or that your WorkScore has been updated based on new reviews
  • Notification when you are able to revise your reviews of co-workers
  • Administrative emails including announcements of new features
  • Newsletters on how to improve your WorkScore or help your company to improve its Workplace Score

You may opt out of receiving communications from us at any time. Please review the Opt-Out Policy section below.

Third Party Data Processing and Verification

Periodically, we may send your personally identifiable information to third-party email or data processors for data verification or other processing. Data verification involves the use of third-party email or data processing services to validate your email account, for example, so that we know that you have given us a valid account. 

On occasion, we may send the personally identifiable information we gather about you to trusted third-party email or data processors to organize, process and/or analyze the data on our behalf. For instance, we use such services to ensure that your opt-out requests are honored and to ensure that email we send you is not inadvertently flagged as spam.

All such third-party data processors are (a) prohibited from using your personally identifiable information except to provide these services to us and (b) contractually bound to observe this Privacy Program and to maintain the confidentiality of your personally identifiable information.

As disclosed above, we may share your non-personally identifiable information in aggregate and anonymous form with your company. For example, we may let a company know that the your workplace is seen by employees as much more family-friendly than other workplaces. We will share your WorkScore with your company if they commit to helping you improve it unless you indicate  in your security profile that we may not do so.

Tell-A-Friend

WorkScore works best when everyone participates, so we offer you the opportunity to refer friends or co-workers  to WorkScore. If you choose to refer a friend or co-worker to WorkScore, we will ask you for his or her name and email address. We will automatically send your friend or co-worker an email inviting him or her to use WorkScore. We may store this information for the purpose of sending this email, for facilitating the registration of your friend or colleague, and for tracking the success of our referral program.

Your friend may unsubscribe from this and other requests either in lieu of registering or after registering.

Email Opt-Out Policy

We will not send you unsolicited email or assist others to do so. Our site provides you with the ability to opt-out of receiving communications from WorkScore. You may opt-out by changing your communications preferences in the profile section of the site. Instructions about how to unsubscribe from mailings are also contained in every email that we send you.

Canceling Your Account

You control your WorkScore and you may at any time chose to cancel your account with WorkScore. When you cancel your account, we remove all personally identifiable information that you have provided us and maintain only such information as is necessary to ensure that we discontinue all communications to you. You will not be able to submit new reviews to colleagues or to your company but the reviews that you gave to others or to your company while you were registered are not affected. Even if you receive reviews from others, we will not update your WorkScore. You will no longer be able to see or send your WorkScore. Once you cancel your account, you will receive no communications from us. You may cancel or reinstate your account at any time without penalty or predjudice.

Modifying Your Information

You may update your registration information on the "My Profile" page of the site. This is a secure area and login is required. You may change your work email, personal email, password, photo, communication preferences, or other registration information on this page. If you have forgotten your password, you may select the "Forgot Password" link and then enter your email address. Our system will confirm your account and send your password to your registered email address.

Links To Third Party Sites

The site may provide links to other web sites or resources over which we do not have control (“External Web Sites”). These links do not constitute an endorsement by us of these External Web Sites. You acknowledge that we are providing these links to you only as a convenience, and further agree that we are not responsible for the content of these External Web Sites. Your use of these External Web Sites is at your own risk and is subject to the terms of use and privacy policies located on these External Web Sites.

Notification Of Changes

If we make material changes to this Privacy Program that do not affect how we use your personally identifiable information, we will post a prominent notice on our website. That notice will direct you to the page containing the revised policy. If, however, we propose to use your personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time we collected it from you, we will notify you via email. Our email will instruct you on how you can express your consent to our proposed use of your information.

Security Measures

We take precautions to use modern security technology to protect the personally identifiable information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. The data we collect is protected through the use of firewalls, passwords, security certifications, and encryption, among other things. Nonetheless, no communication, no transmission over the Internet, and no electronic storage is 100% secure. Courts may and occasionally have subpoenaed this information. Therefore, while we are vigilant in protecting your personally identifiable information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
